John E. LaSure, Jr. is the Chief Executive Officer for Amigo! Communications and all affiliates, which includes Lifestyles at Meeting Friends Online, Personals at Meeting Friends Online, Amigo! Financial Group and all other associated businesses listed within the family of Amigo! Communications. Mr. LaSure holds and maintains his Project Management Certification with the PMI Organization along with the highest certification from IBM Corporation; The Executive Level Certification as an IBM PE Delivery Program/Project Executive.
Throughout his career, his main focus has been CRM to his clients with all functions related to I/T Services and Delivery, which includes overall engagement implementation, cross-functional teams, SOW negotiation and preparation, financial and outlook planning, life-cycle and communications management, and general responsibility of all related request for service (RFS) that flow through the project office for Network Services Delivery.
Mr. LaSure has over twelve years of experience in project management and eighteen years of experience in the technical communications arena. His management background and projectized experiences includes mid-term and long-term projects encompassing software development (system/application), hardware deployment, data-center planning and disaster recovery, mergers & integration, project/program office, desktop migration, network/desktop rollout, technology analysis, system integration, Y2K (for voice/data applications), training and deployment. He has multiple industry experiences including e-business, data and telecommunications encompassing, but not limited to the financial / banking segments and the healthcare / insurance industry. He has experience managing large cost cases and has managed projects with budgets up to $4 million in scope and size.
Experience and Accomplishments
As a professional hire to IBM, Mr. LaSure held a vice-presidency with a multi-billion dollar financial institution as their Chief Technology Officer managing a yearly IT budget of $3.5 million. Key focus areas included: developing strong business partnerships (vender relations), charting costs and budgetary directions for enterprise relating to technology, managing contracts and services, managing technical staff and creating goals aligned with the business directives. During his tenure, he was directly responsible for various divisions of technology. Data Communications (local and wide-area technologies), Voice Communications (call accounting, voice mail support, call distribution automation), Desktop support (Client/Server) and Networking Technologies (encompassing internet/intranet development, firewall management and data security) were under his direction.
His accomplishments and experiences include:
· Successful and cost effective migration from analog wide-area network to a high-speed digital routed network.
· Project sponsor and delivery executive for new corporate headquarter building encompassing new voice technology for call accounting, automated attendant, automated call distribution and structured data communications networking supporting high-speed (100mb) switching, network control center design, network server farms, network monitoring and security, fiber riser designs with redundancy and vertical scalability.
· PM for WINNT deployment of 400+ workstations, maintaining Novell connectivity issues with Synoptic/Bay, Cisco and 3-Com equipment.
· PM a Northern Telecomm PBX solution for 30+ network location sites. Project encompassed successful call accounting efforts, central management and migration from existing branch voice network.
· PM a DNS design and Internet/Intranet rollout for corporate workstation environment.
· Directed data security approach for remote LAN access, telecommuting and firewall management.
· PM for business recovery efforts for corporate-wide testing and documentation.
After signing a deal with IBM, Mr. LaSure was charged with the responsibility of assisting in the design of a large educational network. As the senior consultant and advisory PM on this engagement, Mr. LaSure had a very important role. As part of the design team, he was to help design the new local and wide-area networks, provide technical assistance for the integration of over 1260 school locations and assist in the planning and team building stages of this large deployment. As a technical liaison to the existing technical staff of the schools, Mr. LaSure was required to understand their environment, while providing direction and assistance. His high-level design and conventions were the building blocks for that engagement.
Advancing to
the position of Senior Project Manager, Mr. LaSure worked as a facilitator of
all large-scale projects for a leading health care insurance provider. Acting as their senior PM advisor and
technical PM, he mentored junior PM’s under his guidance and conducted
mission-critical projects to successful completion during his time with the client
engagement. Managing a yearly pool concept
of available funds ($4 million), and a personnel component ($4 million) enabled
his team to have the responsibility for the delivery of voice and network
infrastructure solutions to this client.
Highlights include:
· Front-end communications controller/processor migration.
· High level and mission-critical deployment of new frame assembly for voice switch upgrade.
· Mission-critical project of core building infrastructure for network delivery for all applications and floor station wiring for horizontal and vertical networks.
· Advisory roles for contract framework for statements of work (SOW), financial costing and “hot-skill” pricing for addendum (new business) deals.
In his current role as Liaison Project Office & Network Services Executive, Mr. LaSure works as a high level Program Manager. While owning a customer relationship for Network Services delivery, he crafts custom solutions with SOW's (PO), manages a delivery team for project-based solutions (SDC) and owns a profit and loss ledger for financial responsibility that approaches $5 million of revenue yearly (Network Services). He participates in the financial reviews and strategic planning events for the total yearly SO contract of $112 million.
Highlights include:
· TN3270 Implementation replacing 3 front-end processors with CIP/APPN technology for 60,000 host sessions for several business lines.
· Successful completion of MYUHC.com project (program manager) encompassing several projects for several business lines.
